And so for that scene in the kitchen,

And I think it was Ethan, he made his statement.

He said, what's interesting about the scene

is everyone thinks that this is their kitchen.

And I love that because there is always these machinations.

And people are kind of afraid to speak up and be blunt.

In this episode, a family vacation becomes an apocalyptic nightmare, and director Sam Esmail's psychological thriller, Leave the World Behind.

The film tells the story of Amanda and Clay, who rent a luxurious home for the weekend with

their kids. Their getaway is upended when two strangers arrive bearing news of a mysterious cyber

attack and the possible collapse of life as we know it.

In addition to Leave the World Behind,

Smael's other directorial credits include the feature film, Comet,

and episodes of the series Homecoming and Mr. Robot.

Following a screening of the film at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles,

Smael spoke with director Luke Greenfield about filming Leave the World Behind.
