Welp...Black History Month is wildin once again...As much as we try to stay away from talking about every instance of racism, we couldn’t let this one slide. A few days ago, a viciously racist letter that was sent Pastor Dwight McKissic became public. Shortly after it was shared for the world to see, the letter went viral, exposing many Black Christians to familiar, triggering racist language about our identity. It would be easy to ignore this but we want to talk about what’s beneath the surface. Tyler is joined by Witness BCC Vice President and Coming the Roots Host Ally Henny to talk about what is beneath the surface of racism like this. 0:54.1	people are like, Oh yeah, bring Allie back again. That's hilarious. Oh my goodness. Well, we are
1:00.4	back recording an episode because of the fact that this is a little bit of an emergency podcast that
1:08.3	is in response to something that we've seen on social media that has now, I guess it's fair to say
1:13.1	has gone viral. There was a letter that has now become public that was sent to Reverend Dwight McKissick.
1:18.8	Now Reverend Dwight McKissick is no stranger to the witness. He also is the pastor of Cornerstone
1:24.6	Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas. And he is well known on Twitter as being someone who is wrestling
1:30.6	with his participation in the SBC. Now recently, he came out with a letter saying that he was more
1:37.3	than likely going to break and separate and sever fellowship with the SBC due to the pervasive
1:43.3	racism that he was seeing and experiencing. And he's been the one who has been advocating for
1:47.9	being involved and being a part. And so it was a significant moment for many who are watching
1:53.0	and concerned about these matters. But there was a letter that came out and we're actually going to
1:58.9	read this letter word for word on the podcast. I want to make a couple of disclaimers before we do.
2:05.6	First of all, we fully recognize that we can't react to every single racist incident that we see
2:12.8	and that's not our intent. But this is something that has resonated, triggered, and traumatized many
2:18.0	black Christians. And so we want to speak to it. Now, I also, though, want to give a trigger warning
