Summary

Latoya Mathews, from Atlanta, Georgia, vulnerably shares how God opened her eyes to His forgiveness and helped her see that the very thing she thought would destroy her was the very thing God would use to deliver her.

IN THIS EPISODE, YOU WILL LEARN:

God deeply desires for you to accept His gift of forgiveness. God will never put you to shame. Even the darkness isn't dark to God... in our darkest hour, it is like light to God. (Psalm 139:12)

ON PATREON THIS FRIDAY:

Latoya is featured as our second "Story Within the Story" for the month of April.  Amy speaks to Latoya about her passion and purpose in helping other women heal from past trauma and live in the freedom God has for them.

And I wasn't able to see that his blessings were for me. So I said, God, you're going to have to

show me who I am so that I can begin to embrace what you have written because right now I'm

not seeing it. Welcome to the Storytellers Live podcast where everyday women share stories of

hope found in Jesus. I'm Robin and I'm here with Katie and Lindy and we are your podcast host.

And today we are bringing you a story from Latoya Matthews, who we are now so thrilled

0:45.0

to call a friend.

0:46.3

She came to us online and submitted her story actually because of one of our older

0:51.4

storyteller, Sana.

0:52.5

So if you've listened to Sana's story in the past or have not, we'll actually put a link in the show notes for it. But Sana recommended her to reach out to us and said, you will love her story. She introduced us and the rest is history. We do love her story. We do love Latoya and we know that you will too. I know. And, you know, just like Sana, Latoya is so upbeat and how she's sharing her story. The beginning of her story, I love how

1:15.5

she uses actually a verse that we refer to a lot on storytellers, which is First Peter 2.9,

1:20.4

where you are a royal priesthood. And I love how she gives each one of us this image of, hey,

1:25.7

you are a daughter of the king, so you call yourself

1:27.7

that. You're going to hear that at the beginning. Latoya's story is really about learning how to

1:32.0

forgive yourself. She does walk us through how she forgave herself after walking through an abortion.

1:37.1

But I think her story really just tells each one of us. We all have things in our past that we

1:41.9

regret and that we don't think that God is big

1:44.2

enough to forgive us from. He is big enough to forgive us. And guess what? That forgiveness

1:49.4

is really the power of your story. And so I hope it encourages you today. Before LaToya's story,

1:55.4

we do want to tell you an exciting announcement that our second Bible study, when God shows up, discovering God in

2:02.4

stories of freedom, is launching this August. So start looking for our promotion this summer.
