Dr. Karen Wilson is a clinical neuropsychologist, director of West L.A.'s neuropsychology, and the founder

of ChildNexus.com, a digital platform that connects

parents whose children struggle with learning or social emotional issues with professionals

who provide psychological and educational support services. Dr. Wilson is also the host of the

diverse thinking, different learning podcast, which I'm a big

fan of. So thank you again for coming on today with me. Thank you for having me. Such a pleasure.

I'm really looking forward to this conversation. It's an important one because on the

Autism-A-D-HG podcast, we're going to be talking about learning

differences because we do know that many children diagnosed with autism and or ADHD

will be diagnosed with a learning disability. Absolutely. There's a lot of overlap and a lot of what we call in the

clinical arena comorbidity. So, you know, we know, for example, the kids with ADHD,

50% of them also struggle with a learning disorder like dyslexia. And, you know, we'll talk about

this later on, but that's why it's so important to really understand why a child is struggling so you can provide the appropriate level of support.
