In his word, God has given to us the truth, the truth that is in Christ, the truth about who God is.

He has revealed himself to us, and he's revealed the truth about our sinfulness, our fallen dilemma,

and God's great solution, the good news of the gospel, that through Jesus Christ there is forgiveness for sin.

And we who know Christ and love His Word love these great truths, but we also need to be prepared to defend them when they are under attack. In fact, in the epistle of 1 John chapter 4, the apostle says, Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the

spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.

And there are many false prophets, and particularly as the time of the return of Christ

approaches, there is deception in this world, and we need to be prepared to recognize

it and address it.

And on Revive our hearts yesterday and continue again today, we're talking about some deception

that has arisen that is drawing many believers

into its snare and people worldwide. And we've been talking about the 10-week course that

Oprah Winfrey has been hosting. It's a webinar. Over 2 million people, I understand, participating

in it. And she's been promoting and talking with Eckhart Tolly, who is a new age teacher,

about his best-selling book, A New Earth, Awakening to Your Life's Purpose.

Undoubtedly, you've heard about that and perhaps have wondered, is this something I should read?

What should I think about this?

How do I discuss this with a person I work with who is reading it and talking about it? And here again, to help us with that discussion, is Dr. Irwin Lutzer, who is the pastor of the Moody Memorial Church in Chicago.
