I'm Jonathan Greene, and I'm here to jumpstart five-minute Fridays for my good friend, David

Schanz.

You know, I want to share a story.

I'm one of 17 children, and growing up, I kind of like got lost in the shuffles.

And I'm fortunate and blessed to have a sister who, from a young age, she really, really

understand the disciplines of learning the fundamentals.

And that's just something that I didn't grasp.

As a matter of fact, I can recall being in the eighth grade and making a D on my report

card.

And my sister came to me and she said, Jonathan, I understand why you don't like math.

And I said, well, why is that?

She said, because somewhere along the lines, you've missed out on some of the fundamentals.

And so my sister, she took me to my brother who was in the fifth grade, and she caught

me up with fifth grade fundamentals of math.

And then she transitioned to my brother who was in the sixth grade.

And that's right.

She also took me to my brother who was in the seventh grade and taught me the fundamentals

of math in the seventh grade.

And eventually, I got caught up with eighth grade math, and I learned the fundamentals

of eighth grade math.

Guys, I went on and I finished number one in my, in math in my high school, but I also went

and graduated with a dual degrees in mathematics and computer science in college.
