And I moved back home to be with my parents in the suburbs, more space, more safety, sort of.

And while I was there, my dad allowed me to interview him. It has been almost five years since that interview happened.

This time, I called him.

I told him I'd gone to the movies.

I love this film.

My dad was born in Mississippi in the 1940s.

A lot of settings in the film are places my dad would be familiar with. A lot of themes in the film would be something that he was familiar with.
