2024, friends.

I hope you are as excited to embark on this chaotic,

indeed perhaps even apocalyptic adventure as I am.

When I look out into the world, when I go online on social media

and I do like a vibe check I'm getting a lot of fevered anticipation perhaps anxiety

Maybe a little bit of panic about what is about to come what 2024 holds in store and I

got to say I think there's good reason for that.

I don't think that's crazy or unjustified to think that this

is going to be a historic year, a year that unsettles us, a year that brings maybe a lot of

unprecedented things, this presidential election that we're facing in America

is certainly going to be one for the ages. It is my hope and prayer that it won't be one of deep unrest the way that 2020 was, but we have to confront the possibility that it will be in some form or another we've already had rumblings in the court system in

Colorado and in Maine that there are going to be extraordinary measures taken to keep Donald

Trump from being on the ballot, from succeeding, any

number of things that can be pulled out to turn him into a pariah, you know, that's

just par for the course at this point. I don't know that they will succeed in the ways that those methods are being tried, but that doesn't mean that similar things won't happen. It doesn't mean that people won't get very on edge and start to do things that are against their better judgment.

Again, I'm not wishing for any of this. I'm just saying we've been in the grips for a while in America and in the

west more generally the grips of a kind of manic transition period I think everybody

can feel that something is not working about the status quo,

and as a result, everybody is kind of scrambling to figure out what the next thing is going to be and

how they're going to be able to take control, how their
