| 0:00.0 | Good morning, friends and enemies in today's video. We're jumping into the Waver Wire as we do every single Tuesday. And we're looking through every trending player, who you need to be picking up, who you need to let your league mates pick up, waste fab on wide receivers, running backs, streaming defenses. We've got it all covered for you all today in this video. As always, we have our fab suggestions up on the site, BDGE.co, if you're a big dog, |
| 0:23.0 | member, we've got a lot of running back committees to siphon through today. |
| 0:26.2 | We've got a lot of wide receiver injuries that we need to talk about the fallout. |
| 0:29.5 | Are we picking up any of the bums behind them on the depth chart, all right? |
| 0:32.4 | We got some guys. |
| 0:33.2 | We got some guys and we're going to talk about some guys today. |
| 0:35.7 | We'll start at the running backs. And of course, we must begin with Mr. Kamani Vidal. Everybody in the fantasy industry wasn't |
| 0:42.6 | wrong. They were just early. Now, Vidal broke out. Week six was big, 21 touches. I think he ended up |
| 0:49.0 | with like 140 yards from scrimmage. Yeah, buck 38 gets the receiving touchdown as well. |
| 0:54.0 | Obviously, the better pickup to Hassan Haskins. And, buck 38, gets the receiving touchdown as well. Obviously, |
| 0:54.5 | the better pick up to Hassan Haskins. And, you know, we had it ranked that way. We did prefer Vidal in PPR to Heson Haskins, but we didn't expect Sond Haskins to absolutely just fade into nothingness. But that was the case here. And that seems to be what's going to happen because the chargers are passing the balls so heavily. |
| 1:11.2 | Like their neutral pass rate script is very, very high nearing 70%, which is a really, really obnoxiously high number is almost how I painted at this point. And I think that's just, you know, the way that they're going to operate because of the health of their offensive line, because of the skill sets that they have at running back right now. And it translated to a ton of production for Vidal, obviously. However, came against Miami. So I don't want to get crazy here. They do have indie next week. They're a little bit better against the run than they are against the past because their entire secondaries out. They get Minnesota the week after that. Then they get Tennessee. And then I think we'll be looking at a possible return for Hampton around maybe like the week 11-ish. Mark, you know, there's conflating reports about it being a four-week injury versus possibly more than four weeks. I don't think we have a concrete timetable on Amarion Hampton yet, which leaves this backfield kind of up for grab to the point. I think one other thing to obviously consider is they're still kicking the tires with other running backs, right? If they think Vidal can shoulder the load going forward, great. And you've got yourself probably a solid low end RB2. I think we probably have to, you know, dial back in expectations when they're not playing against the terrible Miami Dolphins. But if they're going to continue rolling just Vidal and Askins, which it seems like that's at least, you know, a 50 to 60 percent plus opportunity. There are other, you know, running backs available right now. Maybe it's a Damian Pierce type. Maybe it's a Jerome Ford type. I know everyone likes to talk about like the Breeze Halls and the Alvin Comars of the world. That to me doesn't make sense at all after, you know, you already have salary cap investment to the running back position. You drafted O'Marie and Hampton in the first round. He'll be back this year. So to go and grab a guy like Brees Hall or Camar or whatever and like Bruce Hall you'd have to give a contract to afterwards makes very little sense. So I do think the type of player that they add to this backfield, if they do, would be in that Jerome 4, Damien Pierce archetype, which is an upgrade to Haskins, and I do think it makes this running back |
| 2:53.5 | room a lot messier. But for right now, I think Vidal is a super viable flex play going forward if you're still unknown in your league. And he would definitely be the top running back pickup for anyone out there at the moment, probably the top overall pickup on the week, just given his workload, given the trust that they showed him, like even down the stretch when the game was on the |
| 3:09.6 | line, it was Vidal in there over Haskins, which tells you that he earned the trust of Harbaugh and the coaching staff very, very quickly. And we expect him to be, you know, the guy going forward. Is there a chance that Hassan Haskins does sneak in for goal line work next week? absolutely, there's a chance that he vultures him going forward. |
| 3:24.3 | And I still do expect Hassan Askins to get somewhere in the five to ten touch range but vidal again his skill set just plays way more into what the chargers are looking to do right now at this point of their personnel and their offense right now so vidal number one pick up on the week next up there's not a lot of running backs really to talk about outside of Vidal and then the Cardinal situation. We heard the random report from Shefter that Bam Knight was going to get more work than Michael Carter this week. A week after, Michael Carter got the nod as the starter after Trey Benson went down. Now, I just went back and I rewatch this entire Cardinals game because I wanted to make sure that I like really locked in on the |
| 3:58.2 | situation and knew what was going on there. So we got the report that Bam Knight was going to get more |
| 4:02.8 | work, possibly be the starter. Michael Carter started and he got the majority of the work on the first |
| 4:07.9 | drive. They got down to the goal line and then put Bam Knight in on like the two yard line. So he |
| 4:11.9 | scored the touchdown right away and kind of got home for fantasy in that regard. I will say neither of them really played well. I thought Bam Knight played much better than Carter. I think Carter's numbers were a little bit better. Almost all of Carter's production came in two minute drills. It was like prevent defense end of the second quarter when they were going into halftime. Carter broke off like a third and 10 draw play play for 12 yards had a dump off on a prevent defense that he took for like another 12 so most of his production came at the end of the first half and then he got a little bit of run at the end of the game when they were in very obvious passing situations. So to me when I was watching the game, Carter, he had a couple cool plays at the end of the game. He missed a handful of blocks as a pass blocker early on, which basically led to Bam Knight playing the majority of the second half until it went into very, very obvious passing situations where there were like trailing by a touchdown needed to get to the other side of the field. They were down the touchdown to try to, you know, tie things up or win it at the end of the game. So for me, I'd be hard pressed to think that the coaches are not going to go back. And all is to say, Amari Di Makado also got hurt, hurt his ankle in this game. Don't know the severity of it. He left and didn't return. Usually when a player has like a low ankle sprain, they're able to return or at least they're going to try to return to that game. That didn't happen. So I don't want to speculate on the injury, but I do think there's a chance that he misses some time, which would condense the backfield even more. I think it's going to be difficult for the coaching staff to go back, watch this film, see Michael Carter blow some of those pass blocking assignments, he also dropped the ball, which is uncharacteristic, |
| 5:37.7 | and then feel like he should be the guy over Bam Knight. So I imagine the way this is going to turn out |
| 5:43.3 | is Bam Knight's the starter. Bam Knight's the early down guy. Bam Knight is likely the goal line back with |
| 5:49.1 | Carter sprinkling in maybe like two to one in drives. Like Bam Knight gets two drives. Michael Carter gets a |
