There was a guy that I knew who came from a large family, a lot of kids, a lot of grandkids,

and his dad knew that he was going to die.

His dad was the patriarch in the family and a godly and a good man.

So the father pulled the family together, prayed over all the kids and grandkids, wrote letters, recorded videos I believe and just sort of made sure that he had a final farewell word to everyone with great love and affection to make sure that his wife was cared for he made sure that all the

passwords and all the accounts and everything was buttoned up and she had access

to everything he paid all the bills he did all the home improvement projects he

scheduled all the oil changes for the next years on the car and paid in advance he

literally took care of everything I think he even had the hardwood floors re-sanded in the home.

And then he died and the next day his wife got flowers delivered to the house with a handwritten letter from her husband who was still loving her even though he was gone.

Every year on her anniversary for the rest of her life,

she still gets flowers with a handwritten note

from her husband who's deceased.

That men finish well. It doesn't matter where you're at. It doesn't matter where you begin. It doesn't matter if you stumble along the way. It matters how you finish.

And that's where Peter is today. If you're a pastor as I am and have that honor,

And the hope, prayer, and goal is to love both
