Welcome to Strangehors from KCW and Radiotopia. I'm Leah Tau. And today you're going to hear a very intense conversation between me and Eugene who voted for Donald Trump. I'm sure it's going to be provocative and crazy making at times to listen to. But if I may say so

But let me just tell you a tiny bit about Eugene that you need to know.

He wrote to me and said,

I'm a millennial living in New York City, and I voted for Trump.

His family is Jewish and immigrated to the U.S. from Ukraine.

His grandfather was a Holocaust survivor, and his dad died when his mom was pregnant with Eugene and his twin brother.

They moved to America when the boys were two, Eugene and his twin brother with their mom and her dad, the Holocaust survivor. Eugene's mom worked her way up from being an ER register to being a senior VP at a hospital,

and Eugene has lived his whole life in New York City, growing up mostly in Brooklyn, later Staten Island,

and these days he lives in Astoria, in Queens, with his wife who's French

and grew up in Paris.
