right now I'm mowing grass on my son-in-law's golf course, but anyway, I listen to you guys

why I mow all the time with my headphones, and I got bit by a raccoon three years ago on Cinco

de Mayo in my backyard at three o'clock in the afternoon.

Oh, yeah, that thing was totally rabid.

So I heard this shrill sound.

I was sitting at my patio chair, and I looked up, I thought it was a crow.

And then I heard it again, and it sounded like it was right next to me.

As I turned, there was a raccoon there.

It jumped up and bit me on the top of my ass by my hip.

So... raccoon there, it jumped up and bit me on the top of my ass by my head. So, so, uh, I cur, I called it every curse word you could think of. I chased it, but it

ran behind my shed and I, I, and that, and that was gone. It was gone at that point. Um, I went

in the house. My wife, uh, bite, and she just saw a bruising.

She didn't see any blood.

But I called the dispatcher in town here, where I live in Jefferson Township, and I said,

did you send a cop down here because this could be a rabid raccoon, and there's kids out playing

because it was COVID, and they were off off the school and it was a nice day.

So anyway, in the meantime, they called the ambulance squad too, and they came to my house and they made me show them the bite and I had a little pin drop of blood over top of it.

So they made me go down to the local hospital to the emergency room.

And you got a bunch of shots?

Yeah, the treatment was they did six shots in a big syringe around the bite.

And then I got two in each arm.

And that's how they treated initially. And then the next two weeks, once a week I had to go to the outpatient at the local hospital and get a shot. And then the following week, I had to go to the local hospital and get a shot. This is a serious. We got this Nassau County Public Health Safety. Well, it's a great thing we talked about it. I mean, you know, it's awareness. It's rabies awareness month.
