I was, I mean really around. I attended some sessions of the OJ criminal trial, the one that was seen on television.

But more importantly for this story I attended almost every day of the subsequent OJ trial, a civil trial brought by the parents of the two people who were killed that night.

I attended it because as I wrote in a book on the subject,

I'm a chocolate addict and they just moved the Tobler factory into my neighborhood. That is to say, the second OJ trial was held in a courthouse walking distance from my house.

So, I got a press pass, thanks to Sarah Spitz at KCRW, and went to the courthouse

and went to the courthouse almost every day, sat in the courthouse or sat in the

listening room nearby, sat there while OJ leaned over me to talk to a friend of his and NBC news
