Ballons. It's Oscar Sunday. Hell yeah. So if we're going to talk about the Oscars and what happened, this is probably where it would go in.

But all we always say this, never know if we're going to do it. I think we've always done it. We've recorded something after it happens. But this is arguably the least anticipated Oscars in years.

And we didn't do it for the globe. So you're about to either hear us talk about it, or we're going to skip to the next thing.

Or we're so boring and predictable, nothing happened. And we're just like, that's not worth it.

This is an NBC News special report.

All right. Nope. We did an Oscar recap. We'll do it for like 10 minutes or so. Because it did end in a bit of a shocking way.

Everything was going like this exactly according to plan into the closing five. Yeah, the strongest favorites all won up until.

So the only thing that had no insanely strong category is actress Carrie Morgan was technically the favorite. She was a betting favor, but it really was not strong. She was still plus money.

And Viola Davis was probably second in that betting margin, too. She was she was about plus 200 and then French McDormitt about plus 400, I believe, which is again, there was no real favor.

It was toss up. Chadwick Boseman was like a lock of the century to invest actor. And especially after the rearrangement of the order for release.

And that was the strangest part. I don't know. Trilf that because Ken Jack and I were sitting here watching together, but I don't know what you're an insure reaction was because when they walked up for best picture, you're like, what the fuck were they doing?

Yeah. Yeah. Well, you know, first off, like Hopkins was great.

Oh, absolutely. So good. Let's just say that. Like the the shock here was the rearrangement of the show.

And it seemed like it was set up to honor Chadwick Boseman, which would be like obviously, like I don't say it's a feel good moment because we missed Chadwick Boseman, but it set up to honor him.

And it was going to be the big end to the show and whatnot. And then the abruptness of the combination of Anthony Hopkins just not being there.

Yeah, them just being like, all right, we're out. I have a good night. Have a good night everyone. It was a little off putting it, you know, it was kind of, you know, the structure of the show.

Let it into this.
