for joining me today. I am really excited for today's episode.

We're going to continue, even though we have now moved into March. I wanted to do one last

episode looking at the history of black players in America and putting a spotlight on a particular

black player who really somehow feels ingrained in the story of baseball

into the myth and folklore and legend of the game, while also being incredibly overlooked historically

and by the average baseball fans.

So I really want to put a spotlight on today's player, which is Josh Gibson.

Now, we talk about the home run Kings with Hollowed Whispers,

Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Roger Mares, Albert Poole, Sammy Soso, Mark McGuire, and on.

These are the names that we uttered when we stood in our backyard as kids,

that we tossed a ball up in the air, imagining ourselves in their shoes in the bottom of the ninth,

hitting baseballs, mostly into our neighbor's yards.

Those were the names that we thought of.

And unfortunately, due to our extremely disastrous racial history in this country, we have forgotten the name of perhaps the greatest home run hitter to ever hold a wooden bat, and that being of nearly great Josh Gibson.
