I'm Dr. James Dobson and I'm thrilled that you've joined us. Well, welcome again friends to Family Talk. I'm Roger Marsh and here at Family Talk we rely completely

on the Lord's provision to do our work in helping families. I'll tell you about a special

opportunity that's available for you to help our ministry do just that at the end of the

program. Now many people often think about what they need to do to get to heaven and

we know that it is not by our works that we have salvation, but that leads us to ask the question,

well doesn't God call all of us to live God-led lives?

Well, certainly he does.

Sometimes though these two concepts can seem contradictory or why should anyone try so hard to

live a life doing good deeds when that is not how I get into heaven.

Well maybe we're missing a key concept here.

Jesus talked about how hard it would be for a rich man

to enter into the kingdom of heaven,

and yet, as we read in Matthew chapter 6,

versus 19 and 20,

do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth where moths and vermin destroy, and where

thieves break in and steel.

But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven where moths and vermin do not destroy and where thieves do not

break in and steal. So how and why do we need to store up treasures in heaven?
