In Virginia historic case against US military contractor, CI used to be known as Kaki

brought by three Iraqi torture survivors at the notorious Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq

has ended in mistrial after the jury Thursday failed to reach

unanimous verdict.

The lawsuit against CACI was first filed by the Center for Constitutional Rights in 2008.

Since then, the company repeatedly attempted

to have the case dismissed.

The plaintiffs are Suhel al-Shamari, Assad,

Zubai, and Salah al-A-Jali.

They'd accused CACI of conspiring to commit war crimes at Abu Ghraib.

Three were subjected to sexual abuse and other forms of torture by interrogators.

We interviewed one of the plaintiffs, Sala A.

On Democracy Now, back in 2014, a decade ago.

He talked about his time in solitary confinement at Abu Ghraib.

I know what I can't,

uh... attack, calitic, you can't

do it callotch, you know, I'm a story. These interrogations that happened every two or three days would last for an hour, an hour

and a half or two hours in this manner.

The details of the interrogations were different.
