Summary

"Honeymoon Hotel" (February 22, 1977)

You innocent TV Land watchers may not have suspected that there was anything queer about Laverne & Shirley, a show about two women who share an apartment and work at a brewery. Sure, they're boy crazy, but also there's this episode where they scam their way into a bridal suite and downtown Milwaukee's finest hotel. Here to help us unpack the sapphic undertones is the final girl herself, Stacie Ponder! Also: Ghosts! Farrah Fawcett! And Rosie O'Donnell!

Listen to Stacie's new podcast, Final Girl After Dark, as well as her watchthrough of the entire Twin Peaks franchise, The Detective and the Log Lady

Listen to the What a Cartoon episode about Laverne & Shirley in the Army… if you dare!

In a sense, this is a meetup that I've been waiting like 20 years for because I've been reading Final Girl, your blog, basically since it started.

I wish I kept tabs on how many movies I saw because you recommended them. And sometimes it's just like an off-hand comment. I was like, well, I don't know that one. And I've seen many movies that are Stacey Ponder recommendations. I can't tell you for sure that the most recent one is Scream for Help, which I watched with Glenn, like two weeks ago. Because you actually said, like, maybe you should just watch the movie rather than listen to the podcast. And I'm like, you know what? I have a feeling this is going to be one that I'm actually going to enjoy. So I did pause it and then watched it and then went back and listened to the podcast afterwards. Oh, my heart soars. Like, that's the best thing is when somebody, when I love a movie and I'm like, please just watch this.

2:03.2

And then somebody does and, you know, hopefully they love it too.

2:07.0

But usually I will say, don't read this, don't listen to this.
