This week we're headed to RHS Garden Wisley for some August inspiration and to bring you top tips from

the wonderful team based here in Surrey.

Wisley is looking particularly wonderful at the moment with enormous range of hydrangeers.

There's been a lot of breeding of new ones in recent years and we've got quite a lot of them

at Wisley and they look fantastic, although for my part I still love the blue hydrangeers.

The exotic garden is just coming into its own with the recent heat we've had,

and one thing that's caught my eye there is Tigridia, which is an orchid-like bulb,

and they're not very expensive, but for some reason I've never grown,

so I've put them on my to buy list for next year. And of course the long border with a vast array of all sorts

of plants, but mostly herbaceous perennials. And they're not only my favourites, the penstemons

and the salvias, but also heleniums, which are like a kind of small sunflower. We're doing

a trial of them at RHS Garden Bridgewater this year as well and at Wizzley,

so we're Heleneum Mad, which is great for me because I love them.
