Lori Kilmartin. Lori who co-host the podcast the Jackie and Lori show with

fellow comedian Jackie Kachen and her recently released her third book,

Dead People Suck, a comedic memoir about the same time period that inspired her

celebrated comedy special 45 jokes about my dead dad is a classic comics comic with over 30 years under her belt she is a tried

and true standup who tirelessly and precisely writes jokes. It's a skill that helps

earn her day job as a monologue writer for Conan.

But the focus of this episode will actually be from when she performed on Conan during the summer of 2017.

Of course, last season we had Naomi Ekperigan talking about putting together her first TV set,

but Lori offers the perspective of a veteran with plenty of TV credits under her belt.

We specifically discuss the joke that makes up the back half of her six minute set,

no enclase Domingo, but as she explains,

the first three minutes was all deliberately chosen to set up the second three.
