I am so over this situation, Peter. I'm unbumble to find something real. You know, like someone

0:07.5

you can count on, someone who actually cares about what you think. I just want someone

0:12.5

who's ready for that long-term kind of love. Whether you're looking for your next boyfriend,

0:18.9

girlfriend, casual date or just someone who truly gets you, it's waiting for you unbumble.

On this episode, I'm going to continue my conversation going through the autopsy report and pictures.

I'd like to take this opportunity since Lauren was found in the water. There are quite a few

1:12.1

questions concerning drowning, how being found in the water affects post-mortem issues with her

1:19.3

body, levity, for example, rigor mortis. There were a number of questions specifically driving at how long

1:25.8

she was in the water. So what I want to do just basically is to start off talking a little bit about

1:31.7

drowning, kind of bring some clarity to that. You know, when you have a person that's allegedly

1:36.9

drowned who is found in water, those people drowning victims, they normally sink. And you need to

1:42.1

know that the human body weighs slightly more than fresh water. And as the body descends further

1:47.6

in the water, the pressure of the water tends to compress gases in the abdominal and chest cavities.

1:53.4

Well, as a result of that, the body displaces less water as it sinks and therefore becomes less

1:59.2

buoyant. So if a body is found floating, it's very important for investigators to consider another

2:05.9

cause of death. And as you will recall in the autopsy, the medical examiner ruled cause of death to be

2:14.1

death by blunt force injury. So let's talk about once a body sinks, how long does it take to

2:19.2

surface after drowning? It's important to know that it depends on a number of issues such as fat

2:24.1

content, consumption of beverages and food, what the water temperature is, and depth at the location.

2:30.5

In warm and shallow water, the gases in the body form rapidly and result in a possible rise to the

2:36.3

surface within a day or two. When we look Lauren's body in the water, she was floating on the surface.

2:42.9

I think it's important to note that one of the things that we noticed was a pocket of air that
