Today, we mark 10 years since the tragic death of Lauren Agee.

I'm joined by her mother, Sherry Smith, a woman who has carried the weight of grief,

strength, and determination every single day since that night at Center Hill Lake.

In this conversation, Sherry opens her heart about what the

past decade has felt like, the fear, the loss, the resilience, and above all, her fight to make sure

Lauren is never forgotten. This isn't just a reflection on loss. It's about love, legacy, and the unrelenting

pursuit of truth. Today I have with me, Sherry Smith, Lauren Agee's mother.

It has been 10 years.

We are getting to the 10th year anniversary.

What are your feelings and thoughts that happen as we approach Lauren's anniversary of her death?

Well, Sheila, to be completely honest, I was kind of dreading the anniversary, the 10-year, especially.

A lot of times passed, but to be honest, the pain has not gone away.

My fear in this time passing is that Lauren would be forgotten.

You know, we have kept every year giving the scholarship away at the school, you know,

for the Golden Girls. And right now it's up to over $5,000 per year, which I hear from parents

is a wonderful thing and it helps tremendously. But I just don't want Lauren to be forgotten.

I don't want Lauren to be forgotten.

I don't want time to be the reason where everybody doesn't think about her anymore. Doesn't remember how vibrant and wonderful and caring and loving that she was.

Michael and I have actually been thinking about different things.

How do we, especially the people that about different things. How do we,

especially the people that cared about her, how do we, you know, make her relevant? And I think a lot of

times though, Sherry, people do think about her. I know from people that hear the podcast, they look into her case, they reach out.
