Summary

Episode 42: Laura Purchase

In 1983, a burning body was found in the woods off League Line Road in Montgomery County, Texas. It was a woman, and she had been raped, murdered, posed, and set alight. But no one knew who she was – and it stayed that way for years. Once she was identified as Laura Purchase of Michigan, it did not help investigators trying to solve her murder. The case went cold. In 2019, Detective Fadi Rizk reopened the case, and utilized forensic genealogy that led them to one man. The original investigators’ theory had been correct – the killer was a trucker. And he was still alive and kicking – for now.
