Wow, do you hear that? That's my heart beating. I'm Lauren, I'm an alcoholic, and I am over

quelm to be up here. My cup runneth over. God, this is so overwhelming. I live for 28 years here

in Sacramento. I have so much spiritual history that you don't even want to hear about it here.

And I am overwhelmed that I am speaking. Hello, Jay. God bless you, sweetie, that I am speaking at the

Cathedral meeting because I have come here and celebrated my birthday. I have come here to enjoy

the speakers. There are certain people here that I know I'm going to see them when I come, and

you guys, this is such a blessed, blessed program. And if I can say this without crying, it is my

greatest honor, my greatest, greatest privilege. I have my four daughters and my son-in-law.

If you'll stand up, kids, because they are a major, they have been angels in my

life. When it says in the big book of alcoholics anonymous that our families can be healed here,

it doesn't mean they get perfect. It just means you learn how to love each other and accept

each other just exactly the way you are. And my God, you guys, what a fantastic gift.

I'm not going to talk a whole bunch about my drinking. I feel like, well, Jay, I should give

them a vignette so they know, you know, that you really are an alcoholic. I have somebody,

seriously, I'm sure they can do this. But the interesting thing is, with my kids, you know, I came

into this program when I was 26 years old. And if you have 31, you'll know exactly how old I am to

that. But, you know, my youngest daughter back there, she was my sober baby. And my son, who is not
