Hello and welcome to WWE Prep to Go. We talk strategy and ideas and have lots of

short trip reports for people playing their Disney World trips. I am Raho Shannon Alpert from www.wpropschool.com. Thank you for being here for episode 338. Today is my chat with Laura who recently took a short trip with one of her children, her daughter, so that they could go and just do holiday things together. And there were some changes. One of the reasons I like doing the pre-trip and the post-trip is to see how they compare and they were different for some very good reasons. So you'll hear that in just a minute. As always, I want to remind you to follow my

social media. We have busy every day posting on all the platforms. Just search www.propschool. And if you would like to be a trip report guest like Laura, the way to do that is in the speak pipe information that's in the show notes of every episode. You use your phone or your computer to leave a voicemail with the brief details of your trip. And if it works out with our schedule, my podcast producer will reach out to get the interview scheduled. I don't think we have any more housekeeping here. So without any further ado, here's my conversation with Laura. Welcome to the podcast, Laura.

1:28.9

Hi, Shannon. Thanks for having me. So you and I are talking on Tuesday, December 6th. Are you headed out on a trip soon? Yes, we are. We'll be traveling to Disney World from Saturday, December 17th through Tuesday, December 20th. So four days and three nights.

1:44.9

And who is we? It's my daughter, Layla, who's in fifth grade and she's 10 and myself. Usually my husband and my son travel with us, but this time they're staying home. My son is 13. And so he has commitments in school that he really doesn't want to miss.

1:57.9

So this is going to be our first mother daughter trip. I love that. I like, I like when you do one on one thing because it kind of changes the dynamic of the trip. Yeah, it should be fun.

2:09.9

So the son and husband aren't going. How did you and your daughter decide to go on these days? Okay. Well, this is actually a really last minute trip. We've already been to Disney twice this year. We were there in January and in August. But in early November, I was talking to my husband about wanting to travel.

2:25.9

My winter break starts on December 16th and I was hoping to go somewhere kind of before Christmas. And he suggested that I take my daughter out of school for a few days and go down to Disney because the two of us love it so much.

2:37.9

Nice. So it was just a winter break thing for you. Yeah, the timing worked.

2:44.9

Good. Well, that's fun because it's a fun time of year to go. And so what are your plans? Are you flying into Orlando? Okay. Yeah, we're going to fly into Orlando early on Saturday morning.

2:53.9

We have like a small local airport that flies front here. So hopefully that will work out and we should arrive around 10, 30 in the morning on December 17th. Yes, on Saturday.

3:05.9

Okay, arrived 10, 30 a.m. And how are you getting from the airport to your hotel? We'll probably use lift or Uber.

3:13.9

And where are you saying? Where is the Uber or lift taking you? We're staying at the Waldorf, like in the Bonnet Creek area.

3:20.9

That's fun. I have not stayed there. And I'm curious how it goes. Her good things. Yeah, we stayed there once back in 2017.

3:30.9

And it's it's really nice. I mean, it's a Waldorf. It almost sometimes borders on that like too nice.

3:36.9

It feels a little stuffy region, but we usually stay at good neighborhood hotels. We often stay at the Hilton right next to Disney Springs, the one in like point of this.

3:44.9

You can like walk right over. That's actually probably my favorite because it's super convenient. But some are going to try out the Waldorf. I remember they have really pretty pools. So it should be fun.

3:54.9

Good. And hopefully the weather will be conducive to swimming, which often it is. So we'll see how that goes. So after you head to the Waldorf, you're you're coming in relatively early. So do you have plans for the rest of the day on December 17th?

4:07.9

Yeah, I we didn't we're not going to go to a park on that day partly kind of paranoid about the fact that we're flying in December and the weather could be bad.

4:16.9

Also, since we're flying out of like this small airport and there's like one flight per day, I just didn't want to plan anything too big. So right now the plan is sort of get to the hotel, maybe eat lunch there and check it out.

4:27.9

Hopefully check in early if we can maybe go swimming if the weather is good. And then use the rest of the data, maybe explore some of the different resorts and the Christmas decorations.
