which is, by the way, completely hilarious, is a little hard to hear.

Thank you. I promise. One of the neurologists after my dad had a fourth stroke, he goes, well, you know, you'd take

him all.

Your mom said she was a nurse, and this is a joke of my act, but I truly, I go, in the civil

war, sir, look at her.

She's not a modern person.

She'll make a bite on a stick and shoot whiskey and break his goddamn leg.

You have no idea that she has zero bedside manner.

We're not giving an 83-year-old with four strokes to another 83-year-old who weighs 100 pounds, soak, and wet.

It can feel hopeless, upsetting, but it can also be really, really funny.

Comedian Kathleen Madigan has joked a lot about her parents getting old. From their ineptitude with technology to the truly astonishing amount of medication they were prescribed,

to the time her dad calmly drove himself to the hospital when he was maybe having another heart attack.
