Hi everyone, I'm Sarah Jenks Daily and welcome to Late Night Lit.

This month we're featuring conversations with two brilliant novelists.

Maggie Shipsde, author of the novel Great Circle and Danish Works, author of Anatomy,

a Love Story.

Plus, writer Mark Bernharden shares a reading recommendation with us.

We begin this month with New York Times best-selling author Maggie Shipsde, whose most recent novel,

Great Circle, was shortlisted for the Booker Prize.

It's an exceptional story that takes the reader through centuries and varying perspectives,

all while following the life and journey of Marion Graves, a fictional female pilot who

despite the many obstacles in her path, attempts to fly around the world.

Maggie talks to us about her own travels, how she consulted her brother, himself, a former

pilot, during her writing process, and the organizational challenges that can arise

when constructing such an epic tale.
