Hi everyone, I'm Sarah Janks Daily and welcome to Late Night Lit.

This month we're featuring two fantastic guests,

Lauren Groff, author of the new novel Matrix, and entrepreneur, Shantelle Callaway, creator of the hit board game,

Rhine Antics. We'll also hear book recommendations from two late night staffers.

We are fortunate to have novelist Lauren Groff on our show back in 2015 to speak with Seth

about her wonderful novel, Fates and Furies. We are so lucky that she's joined us again,

this time here on the podcast, to speak with me about her latest, Matrix,

which was published earlier this month and was recently longlisted for this year's National Book Award for Fiction.

Lauren is already a two-time National Book Award finalist,

whose impressive body of work includes six fantastic novels, among them, Fates and Furies, and Florida.

In Matrix, she brings us back in time to Medieval Europe, where we follow the twists and turns of her fearless heroine,

a nun by the name of Marie de France.

Lauren's captivating prose brings this far away world to life,

and is a defiant story of the power and creativity of women in the face of a corrupt and patriarchal world.
