Summary

There's been a lot of build up to G's final race and, well, he nearly missed it. A plane mechanical and a thunder storm conspired to stop him travelling to Suffolk until 1am last night, but he got there. Thank the lord for that. We'd have had to rip up some big old Watts Occurring plans. Anyway, he rolled out from Woodbridge this morning resplendent in his new INEOS jersey aboard his stunning special edition Pinarello DOGMA F and the Lloyds Tour of Britain was underway. Luke was in the Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale team car calling the shots and his boy Tord Gudmestad nearly pulled off a brilliant stage win. He's also an excellent songwriter. You'll have to listen for that story. There was some incredible fans on the roadside and the boys went through some of their favourites in our new feature Lloyds Upstaged. We had a little moment, didn't we, together? Mate. He had a puncture. He was on my bumper. No, that was a, that was just a P that was. I was a P. Yeah. So did that off the bike and didn't go too far back. And I saw you. So jump behind you. Nice little toe, nice little, um, then we came into our left hander and it had just been wet, raining, hadn't it? Got to say, it was a little bit nervous going into that. I was like, ooh. Yeah, there's a squeaky bum moment for me. I was thinking, is this the end of G's career? Is this how it's all going to end? Because it didn't feel like British roads for some reason. It felt quite, or maybe just because I haven't raced in the rain for a while, I just felt like it was quite slippery. I didn't slip once, but I don't know.
