The fan Rochester Sports Update.

Last night at the Blue Cross Arena, the Rochester Amherks tied things up in the third period,

erasing a two-to-nothing deficit to send the game into overtime.

Unfortunately, after battling it out with the Charlotte Checkers in that extra time,

they'd end up falling short in a shootout.

Up next, the Amherx wrap up the three-game homestand tomorrow night. They host the division leading with all rocket at 7 will carry the call here Friday. A lot of great Olympic hockey that kept you on the edge of your seat yesterday. Both the U.S. and Canadian men's hockey teams advanced in close overtime wins. The U.S. beat Sweden 2 to 1, while team Canada held on to beat Czechia in overtime

five final of four to three. They both move on to the semifinal round, which takes place

tomorrow. The U.S. is up against Slovakia, and the Canadians take on Finland. The winners of

those games advance to the gold medal matchup on Sunday. But first, today the women's U.S. team

goes for gold. They face off against Canada at 110 this afternoon.
