All right, everybody, welcome back to another edition of The Tear Down.

My name is Jeff Luck, and I'm along with my co-worker, Jordan and Yankee.

We are writers here at the Athletic, and we watched the Las Vegas Motor Speedway race from afar.

And so we have some thoughts to share on that after Kurt Bush.

What?

Where'd that come from?

Kurt Bush goes to Victory Lane to shake up round two of the playoffs right away.

Jordan, would you have predicted that one?

No, I didn't see it.

I thought Kurt was going to be a round two elimination.

Did not expect him to win a race.

Didn't really see a lot of speed out of his car.

It was okay all night.

It was kind of running in the back half of the top 10, but sometimes it's better to be lucky and good,

especially in Las Vegas. It sounds cliche, but it's absolutely true. And he got a really timely

caution, worked out in his favor and did a really good job on the restart and wrestling the lead

away and hanging onto the lead and punched his ticket to the semifinals yeah i mean yeah i think i was the same with you where i

had him out um this round and of course wouldn't wouldn't you know it uh somebody who we both

picked to be eliminated goes out and actually not only is is looking good to advance but actually

advances and wins and

clenches their way through. So pretty surprising stuff there. But obviously, look, he wasn't

going to, he wasn't going to be in that position. He was probably going to run 15th-ish or something.
