And I really try to go in on the variety part of the

variety mix and play all sorts of stuff so you know of funk and soul and disco and hip hop and and punk

and post punk and jazz and maybe little gospel all sorts of stuff and and and and and and and well you brought a few

songs to share with us today and i want to know what your first pick is kendrick lamar shocking

from the g and x album i mean wow what a what a what a what a what a year last year was following Kendrick and the other guy's whole thing. And that gave us that album. One of my favorite moments on GNX, it's a fairly short song called Dodger Blue. Now, if you know anything about Larry, you might know that he's an L.A. native who speaks in third person.

Yeah, I was going to say, are you speaking about yourself right now?

And I was just in L.A., visiting my dad, his house burned down, in the Eaton fire during the wildfires.

So I've been feeling my, I've been feeling my L.A. pride and love a lot lately.

So I knew I wanted to choose this song.

When I first heard this song when G&X came out,

it really, really touched me because he's got this line where he says,

bitch, I'm from the land.

And land, L.A. and D.

It's kind of like a new slang for l a right shout to my man

jeff weiss he said bitch i'm from the land don't say you had don't say you hate l a never

travel past the 10 which is just it sums up so much i've talked and heard from people over the

years who'll just casually talk about it. They went to

L.A. and I just hated it. I'm just like, where did you go? What were you doing there? And who

were you hanging out with? And inevitably, they were doing some Hollywood stuff, hanging out with some
