We just recently celebrated the 75th anniversary of Winston Churchill's Iron Curtain speech, March 5th of 1946, and want to talk a bit about that today.

Give us a little bit of context as to the run-up to that address in 1946.

World War II, of course, had ended.

Yalta was about a year prior to that in February of 1945.

What's the environment leading up to this speech by

Winston Churchill? Well, it all happened very fast. I mean, after the Second World War,

the greatest injury the world has ever suffered man-made. After that was over, the world was in

collapse. Europe was in collapse.

The nations not in collapse were the Soviet Union and the United States.
