Wayne Kowth is headed for Yushuya, Argentina.

He's riding a Triumph Tiger rally, an adventure motorcycle,

because that's the point of Wayne's trip

to find some adventure.

To get off the beaten track, explore areas other than the tourist route,

and find some challenges, like the trampoline of death, fabled to be one of the

most dangerous roads in South America. Now at this point Wayne is

riding with two other people that he's met along the way and as they make their way

towards the trampoline of death they find the route blocked by landslides.

After doing some more searching, Wayne found they find the route blocked by landslides.

and this was to be an adventure.

This route didn't show up on the others GPS's, only on Wayne's.

This alternate route forced the three riders high up into the mountains of Columbia,

sort of off the map, into what Wayne describes as the toughest most difficult riding he's ever done. But what he didn't expect,

what he couldn't have imagined from that thin line displayed on the GPS, was that

this route would take him straight into hostile territory. Wayne's first clue would be when he was stopped

and held at gunpoint by FARC guerrillas. A dangerous, scary encounter that they were

lucky to escape from, yet only a while later in the trip,

he's caught in some violent deadly protests in Peru.
