0:06.0	claiming that he has to now buy brand new stuff as we ruined everything in his apartment that we were renting.
0:11.3	So we decided to get some revenge by quite literally dragging all the items he claimed were broken down to the local park where all the homeless people live, and giving those items to them.
0:21.0	And I've honestly never felt better about getting back at my landlord in my life.
0:25.1	Here's what happened.
0:26.1	Years ago, I moved into a new apartment while studying abroad, and the landlord was, well,
0:30.9	let's just say he was a real shark.
0:32.7	The guy had a dozen properties rented out to students, and a reputation for squeezing
0:37.2	every last penny
0:38.2	out of his tenants.
0:39.4	By coincidence, I ended up dating a fellow student who happened to rent from him the next
0:43.5	building over and who moved out six months in.
0:46.4	So I had advance warning of what to expect on move out day.
0:49.7	When she moved out, she had broken a single plate and lost a fork, so somehow got charged for an entire
0:54.9	new matching set of plates in cutlery. She even replaced the plate and fork herself,
0:59.7	but that wasn't good enough for Mr. Shark Lord. No, he insisted on billing her for a full brand new
1:04.8	set, and of course she learned later on from her ex-flatmate that he only replaced the missing
1:09.4	items and then pocketed the difference.
1:11.9	I mean, just imagine the profit accumulating over the years over a dozen apartments.
1:16.8	When for every student you charge the price of a new set, but actually only buy one replacement
1:21.6	set for one fork here and one glass there, pocketing the difference the entire time.
