And so like there is like this pastoral or therapeutic reason behind the category of lament.

It's that for most people throughout all times, suffering is the common mode of human existence.

Suffering is more common than prosperity.

Yes.

So what do you do with that?

You bring it to God.

You don't sugarcoat it.

You lay it out blankly.

You lay it out starkly.

You lay it out encyclopedically.

And you demand God to respond.

That's what you do with your suffering.
