Welcome to the Peter King Podcast. It's another week where you really are not sure what exactly to talk about.

Real football or the real pandemic.

So we're going to talk about vote in the next 45 minutes or so.

I've got two very AFC north-centric yes on the podcast this week Marjacks the reigning national

football league MVP and his coach the Baltimore Ravens John Harbaw I talked to both of them over the weekend, wrote my column this week with the lead on the

ravens because occasionally I would really like to write and discuss football.

But you'll hear from them.

I think you really enjoy their conversation.

So I want to talk for a couple of minutes first just about sort of the state of play in the NFL as I record this late on Tuesday, August 4.

You'll start listening to this on Wednesday, August 5

as teams are getting into strength and conditioning and walk-through practices in training camp as we are now five

weeks away from the start of the NFL regular season.

But I think the news in the last four or five days

about players and coaches has been centered on three people who have been put on the COVID list.

Two starting quarterbacks, Matthew Stafford of the Detroit Lions, Gardner Minshoo of the

Jacksonville Jaguars, and Super Bowl champion head coach Doug Peterson of the Philadelphia Eagles.

And I bring up these three people because as we sit here today and we start to think about what football is really going to be like in 2020. I think it is a pipe dream to think that when we get closer to the

regular season that the positive tests are going to start are going to stop it rather and I just don't think

that's the case I think the positive tests are going to continue because the NFL, if everybody knows, has chosen to not go in a bubble.

I think a bubble, by the way, is just impossible for the NFL.

You can't ask 180 people 13 to say goodbye to their families for five months.

And again, I'm not saying that it isn't possible.
