LaKisha Williams is a track and field coach at Porter Ridge High School in North Carolina. In college, she was a track athlete at Kent State where she met her future husband, Jason Williams. Together, they opened a bakery in 2012 and partnered with the LeBron James Foundation to create a "Just a Kid from Akron" cherry cola cupcake.
She is currently coaching 250 track athletes at Porter Ridge and working with an additional 170 athletes at the Charlotte Heat Track Club.
Today on the podcast, LaKisha Williams shares about her background as a Division I track athlete and her love for coaching. She also opens up about the sudden passing of her husband and how she relied on her faith in Jesus to navigate through grief.
