Hello, Lakers Nation. Welcome to the Lakers Nation.com live postgame show. I'm Trevor Lane and the Lakers, as you're probably unfortunately aware of, just dropped the game to the Charlotte Hornets. Certainly not what we wanted to see from LA.

In this one, not able to get the win, even against Charlotte.

The Hornets have not been a great team, but as we talked about in the pregame that

dropped this morning, this is a team that can hurt you exactly in the way that they

hurt the Lakers tonight.

Final score was 135 to 117 in favor of Charlotte, the Lakers.

The athleticism deficit, certainly noticeable in this one,

as was the advantage in three-point shooting that we saw from the Hornets, just a high volume

three-point shooting team. They took 43-3s in this one, made 20. The Lakers, 14 for 38,

and that was too much for them to overcome. 54% from the field for the Hornets.

The Lakers defense was not up to the task.

Could not keep up with Charlotte in this one.

We've got a lot to talk about.

I know there's going to be a lot of trade questions coming in,

and we will spend plenty of time on them. We'll get into all of that. The bottom line is the problems that we thought could be a problem in this one were in a big, big way. And that was, again, the athleticism, the three-point shooting. The Lakers are one of the worst three-point defending teams in the NBA. And the way the Hornets win games. And if you look at what they've done, they've got to win over

OKC recently. They've been winning some games. The way they do it is with high volume three point shooting. And specifically from the corners, the Lakers give up a lot of corner threes. The bottom line is the Hornet's strength matched up perfectly or imperfectly for the Lakers with L.A.'s weakness,

and L.A.'s

weakness and L.A. needed to overcome that tonight and they simply did not. They did not.

And the Hornets had a very fun game. Let's say that. The Hornets had a lot of fun at their

playing offense against the Lakers defense tonight. Too many moments. We talked about how the Hornets are a lot of fun out there playing offense against the Lakers defense tonight.
