I don't think you have to do things for money anymore. Correct. What's up, Laker fans? Welcome to the Laker Film Room podcast. I'm Pete, joined by Darius. And the Lakers and the city of Los Angeles start to return to a bit of normalcy as the Lakers play tonight after the last two games have been canceled. Our thoughts go out to everybody who's been impacted by this in some areas of L.A. In those western and northern parts, it's just devastating. And a lot of people have lost their homes. And thank you to all of the first responders. The Lakers will be doing a donation drive tonight at the game. And I'm sure they'll have some sort of online way of doing that as well. So try to participate in that. Dee, last time this happened was in 1994 with the Northridge Quake. And that was the last time I think the Lakers played it back to back to back. So two games got canceled. They are going to give it a go tonight. Michael Cooper's jersey is going up in the rafters. We will talk about that in the third segment,

D, but good to have Laker basketball back, but under some difficult circumstances.

Yeah, difficult indeed. We took a few days off from the pod as well at the closing of the last

pod. We had some initial news about JJ's family being evacuated and all of that.

And we sort of spoke to what was then already raging the severity of things to what we knew

at the time, which I think was like Wednesday.

And so it's almost been a week.

And I'm struck by the pictures and the images and everything that's on social media.

I was also struck by JJ's media availability that he did. I don't know, man. It's quite the thing.

Like, I sent you a random photo several years ago. I got woken up in the middle of the night.

There was a big apartment building that was right at the end of my street that was on fire.

And my neighbors woke me up.

It was three in the morning.

Luckily, my wife and kids were not home with me.

They were visiting family in a different part of the state.
