Hello, Lakers Nation. Welcome in to the Lakers Nation.com podcast. I'm Trevor Lane for Lakers Nation.com. We've got a lot to get into today. I know there's a lot of doom and gloom circling around the Los Angeles Lakers and for good reason. The team is two and nine. It is game day today though. They've got another shot against the Sacramento Kings, though it sounds like they will be without LeBron James. And I guess let's start there. I actually have a lot of news to get to. We'll also talk a little bit about some things going on with the Lakers uniforms, the City Edition. I want to talk about that. We'll also get into some fan questions and comments. But let's start with tonight's game. So no LeBron James for this one. He's dealing with that groin injury. And I actually think we're probably going to see no LeBron James or Sunday's game against the Nets as well. Terrible timing because you look at a game against the Sacramento Kings and against the Brooklyn Nets, two teams that look, they're probably, they're not bad teams. These aren't like super easy wins or anything like that. But I think that LeBron being out takes them from being potential wins to,

I mean, you just hope you have a decent showing and move on from there.

So unfortunate timing, you would rather have LeBron be out against some of the top tier teams.

And then you have a full strength squad to win, potentially the winnable games.

But the Sacramento team is also pretty good.

They just beat the Cavs the other night.

So it'll be a tall task for the Lakers without LeBron James against the calves.

But we did get a piece from Chris Haynes yesterday that went over a lot of different things about the Lakers.

It was very clear that it's coming from the clutch sports side of things,

the LeBron side of things, making it clear that.

Look, LeBron is not happy with the way things are right now,

nor should he be, again, two and nine on the season.

The Lakers are not happy.

So let's get into some of the particulars of what LeBron is thinking right now, what this might mean for the team and why I think if the Lakers don't do something here, this could start to get kind of ugly between LeBron and L.A. I've been saying for a while that at some point, LeBron, what's best for him and what's best for the Lakers, which had been one in the same for years now, at some point that will no longer be the case. And I do wonder if we are about to hit that point and what that could mean for the team's future. So LeBron wants the Lakers to do something.

This is what came out of the Chris Haynes piece.

LeBron would like the Lakers to make a move now.

And part of this is kind of wrapped up in a quasi-promise that the Lakers made and that

LeBron and signing the extension was doing so with the belief that the Lakers would do everything they could to win, that they wouldn't waste any seasons that he has left. I mean, this is year 20 for LeBron James. And so it makes sense that he wouldn't want to take a season and just kind of punt, which is what we're hearing the Lakers may be looking to do, that they might not be willing to give up these two first round picks that they've got,

2027 and 2029,

with the belief that,
