Hello, Lakers Nation. Welcome in. Trevor Lane here for Lakersnation.com. You're home for everything. Lakers. Welcome to those of you who are joining me live over on AMP. I'll be taking some call-ins in just a little bit here. Big, big game for the Lakers coming up tomorrow as we're recording this. YouTube viewers, podcast listeners. This is a game that's happening this evening because most of you

are going to be watching or listening to this show on Friday. But regardless of when you are

listening, whether it's live or whether it's after the fact, the Lakers have a massive opportunity

on deck here against the Minnesota Timberwolves, a chance to move up to the seven seat in the

Western Conference. That's right. That is what

is on the line currently. If the Lakers can get the job done against Minnesota, one that will not be

easy, they can move into the seven seed in the Western Conference. That would be a great site,

particularly with at that point there'd be about five games to go

for the Lakers. Doesn't mean they would hang on to the seven seed necessarily. The wolves have a

fairly easy schedule from here on out, but nonetheless, it would be great to see the Lakers get into

that seven spot because remember, not only do seven and eight come with them, the double elimination

factor of the play in tournament.

But it also means if you're the seventh seed, you get home court in that play in game,

that first round of the play.

And actually, you'd have home court in both playing games if you are the seven seed.

So even if you go up against, well, you may face those very same Minnesota Timberwolves in the play. And if you go up against them, if you don't win in round one of the playing, you'll get another shot at it. Whereas if you're nine or ten, you get one chance. One chance to win. If you lose, you go home. And then if you win, you go on to a second round and you have to win again. Got to win two in a row if you're the nine or ten seed. So really important. Now, the Lakers, could they move up to six? Maybe. I mean, they do hold a tiebreaker over the Golden State Warriors, but there's not a lot of time left in the season. And the Lakers are a game and a half back of the Warriors.

Now again, all the Lakers have to do is tie the Warriors in terms of record, but that means the Warriors are going to have to lose some games. Frankly, I think the Warriors would, the Lakers would have to win out in order to catch the Warriors at this point or come very, very close to it. Maybe you can suffer one loss and that would be about it. my goal for the final seven games I said the other day was to go five and two. So far so good. They won one game

there. So we'll take that. But, but I think the seventh seed should very much be in play here

and something that if they can win against Minnesota, they can, I think,

hang on to it. I think the potential is there for this team. You know, I played every day that we do

this, we do the call-in show. By the way, I'm going to be opening up the lines here for Colin in
