A little peek behind the curtain here. So the Lakers have just hired Darvin Ham as their new head coach.

The majority of the show that you're about to hear was recorded before.

This news came out, but obviously this news is pretty important.

So what I'm going to do is i'm going to

give you the audio of mark gunnels and i our reaction to the darvin ham hiring this is our initial

thoughts on the hire and then it'll get into the remainder of the show so in the rest of the show

if i happen to mention that they're still deciding upon a head coach or if we're talking about that, that's why, because the majority of this was, again, recorded before the Darwin Ham News came out. You're home for everything. Lakers with some breaking news.

The Lakers have hired a new head coach and it is Darvin Ham, the Milwaukee Bucks assistant.

We're going to talk about what this means for the purple and gold. Joining me, it's Mark Guttles from Lakersnation.com. Mark, how are you doing? I'm doing good, man. Finally, got coached. Finally. Exciting, right? The Lakers have hired a coached. This was step one of what's going to be a busy offseason. And I'll tell you what, this is the guy that most Lakers fans watch.

There were three potential candidates that were out there that we had heard, maybe a few more, but most likely they had narrowed it down to three. It was Darvinham, Terry Stotz, Kenny Atkinson, each of them with their own strengths, strengths and weaknesses, but most had agreed that Darvinham should be the guy and the Lakers land him.

Mark, this is a good day for the Lakers, a good day for Lakers fans, and it sets the direction for

the franchise moving forward with a first year head coach in Darvindham.

Are you concerned at all, though, with it being his first year as a head coach

in the NBA? Is that something to be worried about? No, not at all. I mean, this guy's playing the

NBA. He's part of that 2004 Detroit Pistons championship team. Sorry, Lakers fans.
