This is the live call-in version, which means we're going to have people coming in and talking some Lakers basketball over on AMP. In fact, I'm going to enable Collins right now. Of course, the Lakers, heading back to L.A. with a 1-1 series tied with the Memphis Grizzlies.

And I think there's been a lot of chatter about this.

A lot of people just kind of feeling down as we're recording this,

as the show is being broadcast over on AMP, this is Thursday evening.

There are a lot of people who just feel like the Lakers missed an opportunity.

And I'm among them. I think that the Lakers missed an opportunity, and I'm among them.

I think that the Lakers definitely missed out on a major opportunity to go up to O, to get a stranglehold on the series with the Grizzlies. Yes, if you told us coming into game one,

that they were going to exit the series or exit Memphis with the series nodded at one apiece,

you'd feel pretty good.

We would take that.

But given the context, you win game one and then in game two, there's no John Morant.

And the way you lose that game with just poor showings from Anthony Davis, from DeAngelo Russell, from the team, just not competing at a level that they needed to.

Shots being missed that you typically wouldn't see mistakes being made that can't be made in a playoff series in the NBA.

I understand the frustration that's out there when we consider that context.

Yes, big picture.

You take a step back and you say, one, one, one, one going back to LA.

That's what they needed to do.

They got the split on the road.

But man, that opportunity was there.

And hopefully it doesn't come back to bite them.

And they don't wind up getting themselves in a spot where you say,

shoot, we really needed to win that game.
