I don't think you have to do things for money anymore. Correct. What's up, Laker fans? Welcome to the Laker Film Room podcast. I'm Pete, joined by Darius. Mike was going to be here for this one, but I had to take his dog to the vet last minute. He told me to let folks know about that. So just D&I. And the news today dropped that Lakers, after two years,

have parted ways with head coach Darwin Ham. And D, there's, it's been a very strange two years,

right, in ways that the team that Darwin Ham arrived with is a very different one than the one

that he's leaving with.

And I thought that I really admired his ability to play what I thought was a bad hand to start last season and kind of endure through that.

I thought he made some really good strategic decisions in terms of the type of spacing that we were running, sort of the utilization of Russ, and moreover,

just kind of keeping the spirit of the team high and sort of that new guy who believes in

the situation. And I thought that he helped get us to the trade deadline when Lakers got a lot

more talent at the deadline. And obviously that catapulted them toward a Western Conference finals run where I thought,

in the playoffs in particular, I thought he did an excellent job in terms of picking the right

matchups and, you know, things here and there, obviously we can quibble over, but I thought

that it was a good, you know, good playoffs.

And then this year, man, for my perspective, was one of the stranger seasons, right?

We've done this thing, just the Lakers, the last few years away I'll remember this era is the number of times where we found something that was working and decided to change it.

And the lineups are something we've talked about a lot this year, Dee, and that I thought was sort of a foundational piece that we can tell the rest of the story.
