Well, not much of a surprise, I guess, but so breaking news, Darvin Ham, no longer the Lakers head coach.

The Lakers moving on officially, letting him go.

They've already issued the press release and everything.

The Lakers will be searching now for a new head coach joining me is

matt the optimist peralta matt how are you doing oh i'm doing a lot better Trevor got some time off

after the lakers lost but um i can't say the same for darvin ham who is probably not having the

greatest of days so there's that uh surprise that the Lakers have moved on

here from him. This is what we've been hearing was going to happen sometime this week. We've been

expecting it to happen. But now it's official. According to Woj, Rob Polika called

Darvindham, didn't do it in person, called him and told him,

we're done.

That means the Lakers are going to commit to paying Darvanham for the next two seasons,

unless he picks up a job somewhere else.

They'll be paying him to not coach, and the Lakers will go out there and find someone else

to take over the team.

Is this the right move, in your opinion? And then let's get

into some of the potential replacement options. I mean, ultimately, I think yes. I mean,

I know there are a lot of things you can point to to maybe why Darbin wasn't as successful,

as we probably would have hoped for. But I do think that there was a marked regression from

what we saw from him toward the end of last season into this season. I'm sure we'll get into all of that. I mean, this just became too much of a distraction also for the Lakers down the stretch of the regular season and playoffs. I felt like every game, it was half, you know, what was happening was happening playoff series and then half also like
