What a win for your Los Angeles Lakers. What looked like should be a pretty easy cruise victory against the Pelicans at the outset.

Did not wind up playing out that way. In fact, once the Pelicans unveiled their starting five for this game

and revealed that they have for the first time all season,

their entire team healthy,

we knew the Lakers were going to be in for a bit tougher test

than what you would typically see or think when you just see Pelicans on the schedule. Final

score 110 101. The Lakers get it done with a big fourth quarter and some absolutely massive

defensive performances. We have a lot actually to break down. Going into this game, you would think

this is just kind of another, you know, Sacramento type game.

The Pelicans, not one of the better teams in the NBA, but there's a big difference between the Pelicans, especially the healthy Pelicans and the likes of the Wizards, the Kings and teams like that.

The Pelicans don't have their pick.

They made a huge mistake, traded away their first round pick in the draft this last year. So it's unprotected this year. It's probably going to wind up in the hands of the Atlanta Hawks. And so they don't have a pick. They have no reason to tank. The Pelicans went after this game with everything they had. And they created some real problems for the Lakers. The Lakers had to fight.

And I'm happy to say the Lakers, they had to win this game with defense down the stretch.

And man, did they make some huge defensive plays?

Turnovers a big problem for the Lakers in this game. They finished the game with 21 turnovers. But LeBron James with 21, seven and seven. Meanwhile, Luca Donchich, 27 points. 10 of 22 shooting, hit a big three late. Ten boards, seven assists, seven

turnovers for Luca. Again, the turnovers, a big problem. Austin Reeves had maybe his

worst game as a Laker, certainly one of them. Four for 15 shooting. Two of seven from three. Couldn't
