The Lakers did it again.

They collapsed down the stretch against New Orleans Pelicans

and most likely put an end to their

season and their hopes of making, not the playoffs, but the play in tournament.

That's right.

The Lakers now sitting in the 11th seed and probably where they're going to stay after dropping

a very winnable game to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Oh, man. But maybe we shouldn't have expected anything different the way the season is gone. Joining me is Sean Davis from Lakers Nation.com. Sean, we kind of had a feeling. We were doing our live play-by-play. And we had a feeling as soon as the Pelicans were up in the fourth quarter, then that was probably it.

And it wasn't necessarily because the game was over at that point.

There was over two minutes left to play.

It was really still anybody's game, but just the sense, based on what we've seen all season long,

was that the Lakers were not going to figure out how to get stops,

and certainly we're not going to figure out how to score down the stretch.

And that's exactly the way it played out.

And yeah, and this has been just a recurring theme all season long. When the game gets tight, they don't have a way to get baskets offensively.
