Hello everybody. Welcome into the Lakersnation.com podcast. I am Trevor Lane, joined by

0:08.3

Sean Davis. And today we've got a special guest. It's Lakers Center, Colin Castleton. Colin,

0:13.5

how you doing? Good, good. Thank you guys for having me. I appreciate it.

0:17.7

Colin, how's the offseason treating you so far? You've been getting in some time in the gym,

0:22.5

I've heard, and hopefully some time away from the court as well. Yeah, right after the season

0:28.2

ended, it just took like a small little break just to get mindset going, just a little reset,

0:33.0

and then came right back out to L.A. I've been here for a little while now, so I've just been

0:36.9

working out here in the weight room on the basketball court every single day besides a day or two on the

0:42.6

weekends. But still getting in the gym on Saturdays, getting shots up. So he had just been

0:46.9

working, working heavy. Has it been a bit of a challenge trying to schedule your workouts and

0:53.6

everything around all the, like there's a lot of pre-draft craziness going on right now? Has it been a bit of a challenge trying to schedule your workouts and everything around all the, like there's a lot of pre-draft craziness going on right now. Has that been tough? Yeah. I mean, it hasn't really been tough. There's a lot of workouts, though. There's a lot of pre-draft guys in and out every single day. You know, I was doing that process just a year from today. So I see all the different guys going through the process. So it's cool to see. But no, we just work around it. We find, you know, there's a lot of time during the day. So just being able to get the staff on the same page and we all just get good working. There's a couple guys that come back and forth. And then me and Max Lewis are just in there, you know, getting ready for summer league. Speaking of the draft, what is something that you feel that yourself individually has grown,

1:31.7

like skill cell-wise, mentally whatever, how have you grown, you think, from like last year

1:36.5

in that pre-draft process to where you are now as the player?

1:39.5

Yeah, just definitely a lot of things.

1:41.7

But just, you know, the biggest things for me, probably just my body, definitely changing, you know, being from college, just the, you know, the guys that in the NBA are stronger, much stronger, more physical game. So just being, you know, getting stronger throughout the year. That's something that I really, you know, put a focus to. And just defensive stuff that I worked out throughout the year that, you know, it's the biggest transition that I went through. I'm sure a lot of guys who, you know, finished their rookie year, things like that would say that, you know, the defense and kind of like the pace of play is a little bit different because it's a different game. So just being able to adjust to those things. But like a mindset thing, I've always just been super locked in with my work. I've just been very like, you know, just precise with that stuff.

2:20.4

So that's something that I've just grown from, you know, my veterans and just taking bits

2:23.7

and pieces from them.

2:25.4

Who is it that's been helping you out with that stuff in terms of the veteran guys?

2:29.5

And what specifically have you been changing about your defensive game?

2:33.7

I mean, I would just say watching

2:35.8

you know a d this year is somebody that he's one of the best defensive players in the league and he's

2:39.7

been the best since i've been a kid watching him growing up um but just being his teammate and just
