Summary

With the NBA trade deadline coming in a little over two weeks, the Lakers again have a decision to make about what path they want to choose and whether they will make a move to improve this year's team and better position them for a playoff run. In part one of their updated look at the Lakers trade needs, Pete and Darius discuss the different paths on the table for the front office and discuss what they believe the perspectives are from the team's decision makers.

What do you think about the Laker team now?

0:03.5

You follow the box scores of the games every day?

0:06.0

Just the Lakers.

0:07.3

You're kidding.

0:08.6

That is really a compliment.

0:12.8

I was pleased to see you smile at the top bar show because once the game starts, you have a game face.

0:17.8

0:53.0

the Warriors, because I think that

0:54.5

there's a certain amount of applicability.

0:56.9

Recently, there were comments from Steph that the way I took them at least, I'd love to hear

1:01.5

your interpretation, was there is no trade out there on the horizon that could save us, and

1:07.3

therefore it would be dumb to cash in the future of this franchise in order to kind of go after something when it's not there.

1:15.9

And Steph later clarified, don't get me wrong, I'm not content being on an average team or anything like that.

1:21.4

But a lot of that rationale can be applied to the Lakers D.

1:26.1

And rightfully so, to a degree, right? And so I wanted to talk

1:29.8

about that first and that idea. The Lakers have not looked that great after the Dorian-Findy-Smith
